GUIDELINES
To Preserve the Dignity of the Texas lndependence Trail
To promote the beautification of land on Highway 237 as part of the Texas Independence Trail. By encouraging people who live, work and visit to respect and care for our rural landscape, we will instill pride in our community and its role in Texas history.
Dear Neighbors,
As residents of Round Top, Carmine, Warrenton, and surrounding areas we are proud of our rural communities with beautiful landscapes, charming structures, and many cultural activities. People come from all over the world to enjoy concerts at Festival Hill, Shakespeare at Winedale, and shop in our country pastures during The Antique Shows. As a destination for weddings, art, & food we entertain many guests throughout the year.
The Antique Show has become a well publicized and attended event. Local residents and business owners alike can be found shopping the pastures with their friends and family during the twice a year show. lt is a fun and exciting time for many. Our small communities open their doors and alter their lives to serve the vendors, dealers, and shoppers.
ln the past, when the show was over the pastures welcomed back the cows to graze and our rural landscape was returned to its natural beauty for all to enjoy. More recently, visible signs of the show are left for us and our visitors to see who travel Highway 237 on a daily basis throughout the year. Much of what remains is unattractive and not reflective of our country community.
We would like to thank the venues and landowners who take care of their property beyond the show. By removing merchandise, travel trailers, inoperable vehicles, and leaving things stored properly out of view, you are respecting our land, community, and neighbors.
By being good neighbors Highway 237 will be a scenic drive for those who live here and others visiting. As part of The Texas Independence Trail our pride and role in history is reflective in our community’s architecture and landscape.
Friends of Highway 237 – Preserving the Texas Independence Trail, will be recognizing the venues that return their venue to a well maintained and cared for property beyond the show. Our positive media campaign to be introduced in spring of 2018 will benefit all of us and demonstrate neighbors supporting each other.
We recognize that you are the property owners and we cannot dictate what you do with your property. However, we respectfully ask that you join us in our campaign to clean up and beautify Highway 237.
Thank you,
Friends of Highway 237
